Executive Director

I grew up in Europe where my father worked for the U.S. Government. In the places where we lived, it was common to see families with three and four generations living together under the same roof. In that culture, elders are loved and honored, their life experience is appreciated, and their wisdom is respected. My brothers and I would often help our elderly neighbors with chores, not for money but out of friendship. Sometimes we were rewarded with the most wonderful apricot pies that only a grandmother can make. This experience of community and service help to shape my values and ideals. After returning to the U.S., I completed my university education and worked in local government for 25 years, rising to the position of City Manager/CEO. I also taught graduate school at CSU East Bay, worked as a management consultant, and led large weekly seminars in personal development. My wife, Georgia, and I were hospice volunteers for seven years before working in senior care. In 2008 I became the President of Oakdale of La Mesa. In 2013, I also assumed the function as Oakdale’s Executive Director.I feel privileged to lead a team of compassionate, collaborative and caring individuals who are deeply committed to serving seniors. Each member of our team believes that work at Oakdale is a joyful expression of our life’s purpose. Hello! My name is Deanna Meier and I am the Director of Sales and Marketing. I   have been working in sales, marketing, and management since I graduated from the  University of Redlands in 2007. Although I had enjoyed my previous occupations,   they never gave me the chance to express my true passion for serving others.   Since working at Oakdale of La Mesa, I have had the opportunity to combine my   professional experience with my personal passion for helping seniors and their   families find a better living solution for their loved ones. It has been an extremely   rewarding experience to help these seniors move into our wonderful community   and thrive. I am grateful to have found such an amazing community where I am   able to express my true passion of serving others with integrity, respect, care, and   compassion. Hi! My name is Matt Kadin. I come from an extensive background in the customer service industry. I have a passion for helping people, and that is what drew me to work at Oakdale of La Mesa. I enjoy helping people find the right fit for their loved ones. I too had to find a place for my Grandmother to live years ago, and that process sparked my interest in being able to help others in such a difficult time. Deana Greene
MC Resident Services Director

My name is Deana Greene, Resident Services director for the Assisted Living and Memory Care communities. I am a Registered Nurse, and also certified as a Gerontological Nurse through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I enjoy making a difference in the lives of resident and their families. I graduated from St. clair County Community college in Port Huron Michigan in 1987 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. I have previously worked in Skilled Nursing Facilities in various positions, including Director of Nursing. I relocated to California in 2002. Since moving here, I have had nine years of experience assisting individuals in Adult Day Care communities. I look forward to meeting you when you visit our beautiful community.

My passion for culinary arts has brought me to Oakdale of La Mesa. I believe the best way to satisfy our residents is to bake, fry, cook, and grill with passion. The quality of our food is superb. We have a wide variety of choices from “Coq Au Vin” to “Breaded Dijon Pork Chops.” My goal as Culinary Director is to consistently provide excellent quality and choice of food for all residents. Alessandra Gilioli
Activities Director

My name is Alessandra Gilioli. I was inspired to work with seniors by my grandmother who dedicated her life to helping others by linking resources and people in her community. I started volunteering in Italy with the United Nations assisting international families with special needs. A women’s leadership scholarship brought me to Loyola University, USA, where I studied Psychology. Since then I have been working for over twenty years with people with special challenges and seniors by establishing therapeutic recreational programs. With my masters in Fine Arts, I create programs that allow seniors to develop a deep sense of wellness through the arts. Our Oakdale of La Mesa Activities Team is teeming with talent within the arts and wellness. We are happy to share our talents and passions with our residents and learn each day what incredible people we are with. I am blessed to be here as I feel that life is a continual journey of self-discovery.


Debbie Daniels
Business Office Manager

Hello! My name is Debbie and I am the Business Office Manager here at Oakdale of La Mesa. I was born and raised in San Diego and have lived here all of my life. I began working as a young teenager in my father’s local business where I learned the art of true customer service and developed my work ethic. After 10 years with my father, I worked in a variety of industries as receptionist, support staff, office manager and finally bookkeeping specialist and accountant. I feel that I have spent my life training for this amazing job I have now. I just love working with all of the wonderful residents, our team members and the management team. I take care of everything business related in our community from billing, payroll and receivables to payables, human resources and most importantly customer service. I supervise our Concierge staff that is dedicated to serving our residents and their families as well as every visitor that passes through our doors 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We are loving, friendly and devoted to our mission here at Oakdale, providing a warm, welcoming and supportive environment for our residents and their families. Please stop in to say hello! Maintenance Director

Hello! My name is Tony. I have been the maintenance Director at Oakdale of La Mesa for the last year and a half. I have been a maintenance director for the past 8 years. Prior to that I lived in Ohio where I purchased and repainted HUD and VA repossessed homes. This position is extremely rewarding and fun because I thoroughly enjoy working with seniors. I have a Midwestern work ethic, and I hope that it shows in my team while caring for your loved ones.
